Farm holidays in Umbria in Assisi: Farmhouse Casale La Mora. The city goes up again in maximum part to the sec. XII-XIV and preserve intact the medieval aspect. To the sec. XII-XIIIs go up again the boundaries and the two fortresses. The cathedral of S. Rufino, initiated in 1140, introduces a façade with panels plinth geometric framed, horizontal loggetta, three rose windows and an eardrum. The basilica of S. Francis is purely the first great example of Italian Gothic architecture. The inferior church, initiated in 1228, it is to an aisle with spans and times to cruise, two transettis and an apse semicircolare; the chapels are slowwer than the end of the century. The superior church, finished in 1253, it has an only aisle with leaning transetto and polygonal apse. The search of an ample unitary space approaches this inside to the parallel results of the most mature style Gothic foreigner (Catalogna, Angiò). Externally the church introduces a simple façade with eardrum and rose window, broadsides articulated by buttresses in form of towers, apse with circular plinth and polygonal tall part flanked from two towers. The transetto and the choir have frescos, seriously emaciated, of Cimabue (eighth decade) among which the Crucifixion. In the inferior church the walls of the aisle are decorated with Histories of St. Francis of the Teacher of St. Francis (halves Two hundred); the transetto and the chapels bring frescos of the first teachers giotteschi (Teacher of the Sails, Teacher of the Maddalena, Stephen), the Majesty of the Virgo with St. Francis of Cimabue, the cycle of frescos of Pietro Lorenzetti with the Crucifixion and the Deposition from the Cross and, in the chapel of S. Martin, frescos with Histories of St. Martin of Simone Martini.
